Focus Subject - Ecology and Nature Conservation
You have to choose the theoretical module (TM) and one practical module (PM).
Please note! Currently you can choose either the subject "Biodiversity" or "Ecology and Nature Conservation". Currently it is not possible to choose both subjects.
TM Ecology and Nature Conservation
BIO-M-TM-ENC
Detailed module description - pdf
Person in charge: Prof. Dr. Peter Poschlod
Module contents |
- Population ecology of plants (plant strategy concepts, life history of flowering plants – pollination ecology, Ecology of dispersal in space and time, germination ecology, lifespan, clonal reproductionetc., PVA – population viability analysis)
- Ecology of plants (theoretical concepts, climatic parameters, edaphic parameters, disturbance ecology; ecological groups, indicator values and their application
- Ecology of habitats of central Europe
- Nature conservation/conservation biology (history of nature conservation, situation and aims of nature conservation on a global and national scale, nature conservation laws, nature conservation data; instruments of nature conservation and landscape planning)
- Presentation and discussion of a research based topic in the field of ecology and conservation biology, especially actual aspects
|
Module components |
- at least two lectures in the field of ecology and nature conservation (for a selection see the course catalog at the university portal; WS and SS)
- one seminar in the field of ecology and nature conservation (for a selection see the course catalog at the university portal; WS and SS)
In the seminar a seminar presentation has to be held and registered in Flexnow as an ungraded study achievement (Studienleistung). Note! If you are not sure what lectures and seminar to select, please contact the person in charge of the module. The selection may depend on the examiner you choose for the module examination. |
Module examination |
30 min oral examination (graded) Examiner: The student can choose one of the examiner. Please get in contact with the examiner of your choice to arrange a date of the oral examination, than register the examination in flexnow. |
