Maschinelle Sprachverarbeitung und Informationsabruf
Mein Forschungsinteresse liegt in der Schnittstelle zwischen Information Retrieval (IR) und Natural Language Processing (NLP). bwin娱乐_bwin娱乐官网欢迎您@e Schwerpunkte behandeln das computergestützte Abrufen von Informationen und komplexen Inhalten, die maschinelle Verarbeitung der natürlichen Sprache sowie die Implementierung solcher Techniken in reale Anwendungen. Bei dem Projekt Intelligent Directory Request Assistant (YPA) spielt die Extraktion von Informationen aus teilsstrukturierten Daten zusammen mit technischen Problemen eine wichtige Rolle, um YPA zu einem nutzbaren Online-System zu machen.
Dialogsysteme, Gamification sowie datenschutzrechtliche und ethische Problemstellungen im Information Retrieval sind weitere Forschungsthemen, die ich untersuche.
Industrie und Wissenschaft n?her zusammenbringen
Ich war au?erdem an erfolgreichen gemeinsamen Universit?ts- und Industrieprojekten beteiligt, die NLP- und IR-Forschung in praktische kommerzielle Anwendungen umwandelten, beispielsweise als PI in einem Projekt der Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) mit Signal Media. Die Zusammenarbeit wurde beim InnovateUK-Event ?Best of the Best 2015“ mit dem Preis für das beste Wissenstransfer-Partnerschaftsprojekt des Jahres ausgezeichnet. Ein weiteres KTP-Projekt mit Signal Media hat gerade begonnen. Ich habe gro?es Interesse daran, Industrie und Wissenschaft n?her zusammenzubringen. Dafür habe ich eine Reihe von Veranstaltungen (mit-)organisiert, z. B. die Branchentage bei Top-IR-Konferenzen. Au?erdem bin ich Teil des Organisationsteams der Search Solutions-Veranstaltung, die allj?hrlich bei British Computer Society's London HQ stattfindet.
Zudem habe ich in Regensburg das Meetup Data Science @ Regensburg ins Leben gerufen, an dem regelm??ig nationale und internationale Referenten aus Industrie und Wissenschaft teilnehmen. Schauen Sie vorbei und machen Sie mit!

Lebenslauf
Seit Juli 2019 ist Udo Kruschwitz der Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Informationswissenschaft an der Universit?t Regensburg.
Zuvor war er als Professor an der School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering der University of Essex t?tig.
Sein Forschungsinteresse liegt in der Schnittstelle zwischen Information Retrieval (IR) und Natural Language Processing (NLP). Er leitete Forschungsprojekte, in denen Algorithmen entwickelt wurden, um unstrukturierte und teilsstrukturierte Textdaten in strukturiertes Wissen und Benutzer-/Kohortenmodelle zu überführen, die in einer Vielzahl von Einsatzfeldern, einschlie?lich der Suche, Navigation und Zusammenfassung, angewandt wurden.
