Compatibility of scientific career and family life

We will support principal investigators and scientists (male and female) with small children or other time consuming family responsibilities (maternity leave, parental leave, care of relatives in need of care) through the following key measures:

  • Provision of a part-time position for those who are unable to work full-time due to time-consuming family responsibilities. These scientists should be supported by a technician or a project manager, usually by financing a 0.5 position for up to 6 months or a full-time position for up to 3 months. Applications may be submitted at any time to the Executive Board via the gender equality officer (contact: michaela.kritzenberger@ur.de).
  • Implementation of temporary home office time (e.g. during dissertation/publication/scholarships) for self-organization and coordination of scientific and family work (childcare obligations or care of family members with a care degree). The necessary technical equipment for the home office/mobile workplace, such as laptops or docking stations, can be financed.
