Der Lehrstuhl vertritt das Fach der Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie und -psychotherapie an der Universit?t Regensburg in Lehre und Forschung. Der Lehrstuhlinhaber Prof. Dr. med. Romuald Brunner ist gleichzeitig ?rztlicher Direktor der Klinik und Poliklinik für Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie, Psychosomatik und Psychotherapie (KJPP) der Universit?t Regensburg am medbo Bezirksklinikum Regensburg sowie Chefarzt am Zentrum Regensburg.
Für den Lehrstuhl sind die Interdisziplinarit?t und die Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Instituten der Universit?t Regensburg von gro?er Bedeutung, weshalb im Bereich der Lehre verschiedene Veranstaltungen für Studierende der Medizin, Psychologie, Erziehungswissenschaften, Sonderp?dagogik, Biologie, Neurowissenschaften sowie Kriminologie und Gewaltforschung angeboten werden.
Im Bereich der Forschung untergliedert sich die Forschungsabteilung in verschiedene Themenbereiche, die sich von Pr?ventions- über Versorgungs- bis hin zu klinischer Grundlagen- und Therapieforschung erstrecken. Unter Einbezug neurowissenschaftlicher Methoden, psychodiagnostischer Verfahren, experimenteller Paradigmen und digitaler Medien werden verschiedene psychische St?rungen und Merkmale untersucht, die sich insbesondere durch eine hohe Pr?valenz auszeichnen. Forschungsschwerpunkte sind hierbei vor allem nicht-suizidale Selbstverletzung, Suizidalit?t, depressive und Angstst?rungen, psychosoziale Stress- sowie Emotionsverarbeitung, Identifikation frühkindlicher Risiko- und Schutzfaktoren und Pers?nlichkeitsmerkmale wie Alexithymie oder Empathie. Neben verschiedenen nationalen sowie internationalen Forschungskooperationen werden die Forschungsaktivit?ten eng mit den Kliniken, vorklinischen Instituten und Fachbereichen der Universit?t Regensburg vernetzt.
