For students and PiAs

Information for psychology students at the University of Regensburg and for psychotherapists in training (PiAs)

One of the aims of the University Outpatient Psychotherapy Centre for Children and Adolescents is to give advanced psychology students at the University of Regensburg practical insights into the fascinating psychotherapeutic work with children and adolescents. In addition, we offer child and adolescent psychotherapists in training (PiAs) the opportunity to complete parts of their training at our University Outpatient Centre regardless of their basic training (e.g. psychology, social work). In addition, psychological psychotherapists can complete the practical parts of the additional qualification for children and adolescents at our outpatient clinic.

Courses

Every semester we offer courses on topics in clinical psychology and psychotherapy of childhood and adolescence, which can be found in the corresponding course catalogue.

Internship

Master's students of psychology at the University of Regensburg have the opportunity to complete a compulsory internship at the University Outpatient Psychotherapy Centre for Children and Adolescents. We offer a study-accompanying internship of 240 hours for a period of 6-10 months. A bachelor's degree in psychology and previous experience in clinical psychology and psychotherapy or clinical psychology and psychotherapy of childhood and adolescence are required. Please send your application to the office of Prof. Dr. David Kolar.

Theses

The scientific focus of the University Outpatient Psychotherapy Centre for Children and Adolescents is research into new (behavioural therapy) treatment approaches for eating disorders and the testing of digital therapy feedback and monitoring systems during psychotherapeutic treatment of children and adolescents. Possible theses in these areas are repeatedly assigned. If you are interested, please contact the office of Prof. Dr. David Kolar.

Outpatient work as part of training as a child and youth psychotherapist

For trainees in psychotherapy we offer the possibility of the completion of the practical training consisting of 600 treatment hours under supervision ("outpatient cases") or for psychological psychotherapists in the additional qualification of child and adolescent psychotherapy (180 treatment hours under supervision) in our University Outpatient Centre as a "teaching practice" after your intermediate examination, if you present or conclude a contract with a training institute. The compensation for the services is typically in accordance with the regulations of the training institute. If you are interested, please contact Prof. Dr. David Kolar.
