There are several buses approaching the bus stop "Universit?t". The bus company "RVV" has a navigation tool to find the best bus connection for you. The routes 6, C6 and 11 connect the main train station to the campus.
The international office is your first contact. You will find us in the ground floor of the administration building next to the "Studentenkanzlei". The welcome center is located next to the on-campus supermarket, between the administration and canteen. For better orientation, use the campus maps or ask other students.
Regensburg can be reached via the airports in Munich and Nuremberg (NOT Memmingen Airport), by train or by car.
Regensburg has no airport, so you need to fly to Munich or Nuremberg. Both cities are linked to Regensburg with hourly train connections. The munich airport even has an extra train connection, linking the airport terminal directly to the Regensburg train station. There are alternatives to traveling by train, such as buses and shuttleservices. The buses of several companies depart from the airports bus terminals. You will find more information their websites. The private shuttle company "Airportliner" will pick you up at the airport and drive you to any adress in Regensburg. Please note, that this service needs to be reserved a few days before your arrival.

To get to the University, the easiest way is to take the exit "Universit?t" on the Autobahn "A3". You will then be led to the campus by the signs on the road.
With UR Walking, the university?s own application you can easily find your way around the campus.?No matter if?it is?the office of a Professor or a lecture hall. A very useful tool for the first weeks of the new semester!
Regensburg is a bicycle city. The bicycle is the most common, the fastest and the easiest way to move through?the city center. Furthermore, there are many bike paths in Regensburg and its surrounding areas to enjoy.
You can buy a second hand bike at a bicycle?store, one of Regensburgs?flea markets or on second hand websites like ebay. When you head?back home, you can easily sell your bike again.
All the students of the UR receive a "Studententicket",?with which?they?can use all buses and local trains in the city and the surrounding areas within the zone of the RVV. Your "Studententicket" is part of the "Studentenausweis". There is no extra ticket necessary!
As a PhD student you can also use the "Studententicket", as long as you have paid the fee for the current semester.
If you are not enrolled at the UR, you won't receive a "Semesterticket". You can buy weekly or monthly tickets. If you are employed at the UR, there is a so-called "jobticket", which is a cheaper yearly ticket.

Germany has a very good railway network. For those who travel a lot by train it?s worthwhile buying a rail card. For journeys in bavaria it?s highly recommended to buy the so-called "Bayernticket".
If you have a Semesterticket, you should definetly check out the Map of the RVV-Zones, because all trains within this zone are free to use! (Be careful: The train has to stop within?the RVV zone, otherwise you need to buy a ticket!)
