General Information

The master "Computational Science" was established in the winter semester 2013/2014 as an interdisciplinary program of the Faculties Mathematics, Physics and Medicine.

In the Master "Computational Science" you will gain the qualification to carry out independent research work. In this flexible program you strengthen your knowledge and skills depending on the areas of interest. After passed exams you receive the academic degree ‘Master of Science’

A beginning is possible in winter and summer semester with a study period of 4 semester. For a successful master study 120 LP (credit points) are necessary.

Curriculum for Computational Science


Course Objectives


The establishment of this course arose due to the focus of the University of Regensburg in the area of ??high performance computing. These students should be trained for industry as well as for scientific careers. They can exert diverse activities in areas of research and development, but may also pursue an academic career. We focus on the use of computational methods, especially the high-performance computing ?The program is designed to cross-link different scientific fields. Therefore students will benefit from an interdisciplinary training and expertise from three faculties.
