Exercise: Professions for Scholars of Antiquity

?

"So, what are you going to do with it?" It is not uncommon for students of Classics to be asked this question by friends and family. Unfortunately, most students themselves only deal with this question shortly before or after graduation and thus far too late. Possible answers as well as strategies and tips on the topics of career orientation, career entry, and career planning are developed and conveyed in the course of this exercise. In workshops with a high practical component, the participating students not only get to know the "classic" occupational fields of museums, publishing and science, but also other working environments and their requirements. Experts from various fields provide an insight into their everyday work, answer questions and give helpful tips on study planning and applications.

The course, which can be booked as a regular course with credits, is primarily addressed to students of Classics, but is also open to students of other disciplines, if they are interested and if places are available.
