JOHANNES-KEPLER-RESEARCH CENTER FOR MATHEMTICS
| The Johannes-Kepler-Research-Center for Mathematics was founded in 2008. It aims to make the University of Regensburg visible internationally as a strong center of mathematical research. The main focus of the Johannes-Kepler-Research-Center is in the mathematical areas represented by the members of the center. These can be broadly divided into three research groups Arithmetic Geometry, Global Analysis and Geometry, and Applied Analysis. Activities of the Center include workshops, guest lectures and seminars with other universities. The center supports the activities of the DFG projects located at the Faculty of Mathematics in Regensburg: The collaborative research center (SFB) Higher invariants, Interactions between Arithmetic Geometry and Global Analysis, the research training group (RTG) Interfaces, Complex Structures and Singular Limits, and the SPP 2256 Variational Methods for Predicting Complex Phenomena in Engineering Structures and Materials. The education and support of young scientists is also an important part of the activities. The center also hosts the Kepler-Lectures, where distinguished researchers give an introduction to their work. |
