What is Inf Sci?

A society that sees itself as an information, media or knowledge society requires constant reflection on how it deals with knowledge and information. Information science accompanies this process. It develops methods for indexing and structuring information, develops concepts for comprehensible and easy-to-use information systems, and deals with the social implications of modern, networked information dissemination.

In this context, information science deals with the appropriate dissemination, processing, indexing and permanent archiving of information that is constantly created in our society.
