Research focus: Sustainability in the real estate industry in the context of the modern portfolio theory, identification and application of sustainability aspects at company level.
The goal is to offer the students of the real estate industry a subject-specific teaching in the area of sustainability in the real estate industry. The early sensitisation of future decision makers in the real estate industry related to sustainability is crucial for the whole sector. The early sensitisation future decision makers is very important for the whole sector, because only via the dissolution of the apparent conflict of goals between ecology, economy and social justness a contribution to the intergenerational fairness and to the global climate protection is provided. A high portion devoted to practice complements the teaching. The problem solving expertise of the students is getting enduringly encouraged.
After his A level at the Camerloher Gymnasium in Freising Peter Geiger studied business economics at the university of Regensburg, where he got his diploma. Emphases of his studies were in the area of real estate management and financing as well as real estate economics. Furthermore he successfully completed his master’s degree (Master of Science) in real estate investment and financing in Great Britain at the Henley Business School of the University of Reading. Since December 2010, Peter Geiger is a Research Assistant at the IRE|BS centre of excellence for sustainability in the real estate industry.
