Innovation and Technology Management

Innovation and Technology Management focuses on the management of organizations that aim to achieve competitive advantages and economic performance through new technologies.This includes the development of innovative products and services. Such innovations are of great importance for all companies and organizations, not just high-tech firms.
In collaboration with colleagues from the Faculty of Economics, we also coordinate courses in entrepreneurship. The program equips students with skills for corporateroles, consultancy positions, or launching their own ventures, emphasizing sustainable and equitable economic growth.

Teaching Goals

Graduates of the program will be equipped to design, analyze, and implement strategically important technology and innovation projects in practice. They will acquirecompetencies to understand entrepreneurial behavior and barriers, promote high-tech entrepreneurship, and shape sustainable growth. The program prepares students for roles in established companies, consultancy positions, or launching their own ventures witha focus on sustainable and equitable economic development.

Short Biography

Prof. Veer studied Technology and Management-Oriented Business Administration at the Technical University of Munich (Diplom-Kauffrau), including a study abroad periodat the Bordeaux ?cole de Management. She earned her doctorate in Economics (Dr. rer. oec.) with a focus on Innovation Economics at the Technical University of Berlin under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Knut Blind. Following her PhD, Prof. Veer worked as a Post-DoctoralResearcher at ESADE Business School in Barcelona from 2013 to 2015. In 2015, she was appointed as Assistant Professor for Strategy and Management at the University of Tübingen. Since 2022, she is the Academic Director of the Startup Center at the Universityof Tübingen. Her research stays have included visits to the Kellogg School of Management, Boston University, and Copenhagen Business School. Currently, Prof. Veer holds the interim chair for Innovation and Technology Management at the University of Regensburg.In addition to her academic career, Prof. Veer has practical experience as a founder and managing director at the intersection of sustainability and digital transformation.
